Research desks pay a 1.2× pricing multiplier over our news baseline because the credibility cost of a sourcing miss is higher. Target accounts:
Think tanks (Brookings, RAND, AEI, CSIS, CFR, Pew, Atlantic Council and equivalents)
University research desks and library reference services
Independent research consultancies and policy shops
Corporate intelligence desks that source from open media
ACV range: $30K small / $90K enterprise. Year-one target: 5 institutional pilots, 2 paid contracts.
WHAT YOU'LL OWN
The full research-vertical pipeline. You bring relationships with research directors, librarians, and head-of- information-services buyers. You translate Lens's reproducibility story into the language of methodology review boards.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
5+ years selling into research institutions, libraries, think tanks, or scientific publishers
A book of contacts at director-of-research and head-of-library level
Comfort with academic procurement cycles (RFPs, multi-stakeholder approval)
Track record of multi-year institutional contracts
Comfort selling a category that doesn't yet exist; you will create demand, not capture it
