Internship: Python (AI/ML) Intern — Remote (Ahmedabad preferred) | 6 months

Role summary
We’re looking for a Python intern with hands-on AI/ML exposure who can work remotely and contribute to healthcare technology use-cases (clinical workflows, lab/radiology data, document intelligence, analytics, and automation). Preference will be given to candidates based in Ahmedabad (for smoother coordination), but the internship is remote.

Duration: 6 months
Mode: Remote (Ahmedabad candidates preferred)
Start: Immediate / as per availability
Stipend: As per company policy and candidate profile
What you’ll work on (Responsibilities)
Build and improve Python modules for healthcare product features (EMR/HIMS workflows, reporting, automation).
Implement AI/ML pipelines: data preprocessing, feature engineering, model training, evaluation, and inference.
Work on real-world healthcare data types (structured tables, PDFs, images, lab values, clinical notes) with privacy-first handling.
Develop APIs/services for model inference (FastAPI/Flask) and integrate with product backend as needed.
Write clean, production-friendly code with logging, configuration, and basic testing.
Document work, maintain reproducible experiments, and present weekly progress updates.
Must-have (Requirements)
Strong Python fundamentals (data structures, OOP, debugging).
Good understanding of ML basics: train/val/test splits, overfitting, metrics, cross-validation.
Completed AI/ML projects (college or personal) — be ready to explain dataset, approach, metrics, and results.
Familiarity with common libraries: NumPy, Pandas, scikit-learn (PyTorch/TensorFlow is a plus).
Comfort with Git/GitHub and working in a team environment.
Good-to-have (Preferred)
Experience with any of these:
FastAPI/Flask, REST APIs
SQL (PostgreSQL)
Basic MLOps concepts (experiment tracking, model versioning)
OCR / PDF processing, document AI
Medical/healthcare datasets (even academic exposure)
Ahmedabad-based (preferred), reliable internet, good communication.
What we evaluate
Quality of your AI/ML project work (not just certificates): problem framing, data handling, metric choice, and clarity.
Code quality and ability to translate model output into usable product features.
Consistency and ownership across a 6-month build cycle.
