About the Engagement
Seso is engaging an experienced P&C insurance broker on a 1099 contract basis to support our fast-growing insurance program. Working alongside our Account Executives and licensed brokers, you'll integrate insurance solutions into Seso's product offering and support prospects and customers through the application, quoting, and binding process. Your expertise in workers compensation and other P&C lines will help shape outcomes for clients in the agriculture vertical.
This engagement is well suited for an independent insurance professional who wants flexibility, meaningful deal flow, and exposure to a high-growth, venture-backed tech company without the structure of full-time employment.
Scope of Work
Collaborate with Account Executives to support insurance sales as part of Seso's overall product offering.
Serve as subject matter expert on Seso's workers compensation program during sales calls with prospects and existing customers.
Manage insurance production activities throughout the application, quote, proposal, and binding process.
Maintain relationships with underwriters to secure competitive terms for clients.
Process endorsement requests and ensure timely, accurate policy updates.
Support clients with claims, including guidance on completing claims forms and navigating the claims process.
Support policy renewals through proactive service and communication.
Process client requests for certificates of insurance, endorsements, and other policy-service inquiries.
Log activity in Seso's systems for accurate records.
Qualifications
Active P&C insurance broker license in good standing (contractor maintains license and continuing education independently)
5+ years of P&C brokerage experience with strong command of workers compensation coverage, exposures, and markets
Demonstrated knowledge of core insurance principles and structures, with ability to explain them to clients
Strong communication, negotiation, and influencing skills
Familiarity with Applied Epic / EZLynx and Salesforce CRM
Active Errors & Omissions (E&O) insurance coverage
Spanish fluency a plus
Prior agriculture industry experience a plus
Prior tech industry experience a plus
Engagement Terms
Classification: Independent contractor (1099). Not an employee; not eligible for Seso employee benefits, equity, PTO, or other employment-related considerations.
Compensation: Hourly, paid on an invoiced basis. Rate commensurate with experience.
Expected hours: Flexible, with scope and timing set by mutual agreement. Contractor is free to engage with other clients.
Term: Initial fixed-term engagement with option to renew based on mutual fit and ongoing business need.
Schedule and method: Contractor sets own working hours and methods, subject to reasonable responsiveness to clients and Seso colleagues.
Equipment: Contractor provides own workspace and equipment. Seso provides access to required systems (Salesforce, Applied Epic / EZLynx) during the term.
Taxes: Contractor is responsible for all applicable federal, state, and local taxes. Seso will issue a Form 1099-NEC annually.
Confidentiality & IP: Standard confidentiality, IP assignment, and non-solicitation terms apply under Seso's Consulting Agreement, executed prior to start.
