General Summary:
The Senior Front-End Engineer II is responsible for developing, enhancing, and maintaining high quality, innovative, and fully performing front-end code for web applications. This role works in partnership with various Engineering teams to ensure alignment of web design and user experience while prioritizing web optimization and coding
standards.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Frontend Development & Architecture
Build and maintain scalable UI applications using React + JavaScript / TypeScript
Implement reusable patterns for:
Component structure
State management (Redux Toolkit, Zustand, React Query)
API integration (REST / GraphQL)
Component Library & Design System
Develop and maintain shared UI components
Ensure:
Consistency with design guidelines
Accessibility
Responsiveness
Work with design teams using tools like Figma, Storybook
Code Quality & Best Practices
Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code
Follow and enforce:
Coding standards
Linting, formatting rules
Component reusability
Participate in code reviews and feedback cycles
Performance Optimization
Optimize:
Page load times
Rendering performance
Bundle size (lazy loading, code splitting)
Monitor and fix performance bottlenecks
Developer Experience (DX)
Contribute to improvements in:
Build tools and configs
Local development setup
Help maintain CI/CD workflows for frontend
Testing & Reliability
Write and maintain:
Unit tests (Jest, Vitest)
Integration/E2E tests (Playwright, Cypress)
Ensure UI reliability and reduce regression issues
Collaboration & Execution
Work closely with:
Product managers
UX designers
Backend engineers
Break down features and deliver independently with minimal supervision
Learning & Growth
Stay updated with evolving frontend ecosystem:
React updates
Modern CSS strategies
Gradually take ownership of modules or feature areas
Required Qualifications
5-8 years of experience in frontend/full-stack development
Strong expertise in:
React + TypeScript / JavaScript
Modern JavaScript (ES6+)
Experience with:
API integration (REST or GraphQL)
State management libraries
Solid understanding of:
HTML, CSS, responsive design
Browser rendering and performance basics
Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities Required:
Experience with:
React.js or similar frameworks
Component libraries / design systems
Monorepos or shared UI platforms
Familiarity with:
Micro-frontend basics
Exposure to cloud environments and CI/CD pipelines
