We are building the infrastructure for human connection
Loneliness is now a mortality risk on par with smoking. The biggest determinant of how long and how well we live is whether we feel connected: to each other, to our communities, to a sense of belonging. OneThousandClub treats that as a problem worth building real infrastructure for.
We are a members-only social club that brings locals and internationals into the same room through curated, in-real-life experiences. Our core ritual is Dinners at Home: a dinner by high-end Private Chefs, in a member's home, built around one powerful question.
Come solo. Discuss a powerful question. Leave with new friends.
A members club built around real rooms, not algorithms. Community infrastructure, not an events company. Every gathering is architected around a question, not a transaction.
Why now
The company is past the idea stage. It runs across Lisbon, Barcelona, and Madrid, with roughly 614 members and a real operating base behind it. The founder, Mel, runs it solo and raised venture capital, placing her in the top 2% of solo women founders to receive VC funding in Europe. Her background spans the CDC, USAID, and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, with one throughline: relationships are a health intervention, and OTC is building the proof.
Now she is looking for the person to run it. Not a deputy. A cofounder and COO who takes the wheel so she can step back into a mentor and board role over time.
The role
You own the running of the company end to end. This is everything the founder does today:
Member growth and onboarding. Shift acquisition from paid ads toward referral and organic invitation. Own the full member journey, onboarding to offboarding.
The marketing engine. Newsletter, WhatsApp, Instagram and LinkedIn content, scheduling, the whole rhythm.
Community experience. The events calendar across cities, and the quality bar that makes people come back.
Go-to-market and expansion. Open new cities through local community leaders on the OTC back end.
AI leverage. Design and ship automations and agents that cut operational load and let a lean team run more.
Finance and the path to profit. Reporting, the numbers, and durable profitability.
Mel mentors you closely through the handover, then stays on as founder and board. The explicit goal is someone who can take it and run, not wait for direction.
Who you are
You are one of two people:
An experienced entrepreneur, likely from the US, who wants to relocate to Europe and run a real business with ownership rather than start again from zero.
A recent business-school graduate in Europe who wants their first true entrepreneurial seat, with a founder mentoring them and a clear path to ownership.
Either way, you are strong on marketing, community building, and go-to-market, and you can design and ship AI automations yourself. You are hands-on, comfortable with ambiguity, energized by people and in-person community, and genuinely excited to operate so the founder can create.
Compensation and equity
This is a founder-style package. You trade a high salary today for real ownership of a profitable, mission-led company you will largely run.
• Base salary from $5,000/month (in personal tax optimal structures), tied to performance and the company's ability to pay as revenue grows.
• Phased equity earn-out of up to 35% over five years, vesting against tenure and milestones.
• Direct mentorship from the founder through the transition.
We are honest about the cash. It is lean by design. The upside is the ownership and the autonomy.
What you would inherit
Subject to your own diligence:
• Annual recurring revenue of roughly $500K USD
• Gross profit margins of about 40%
• A profitable, operating business
• Roughly 614 members across three cities
• A CRM and community base of approximately 15,000 applicants
• A standout board member, Francis Pedraza, whose company is valued at roughly $2B, and the network that comes with him
• Key milestones to date: surpassed 2k lifetime members, operational engine able to run 60 events per month, and peak of 700 tickets sold per month
• An operating stack already in place: ActiveCampaign, Periscope, Spoky, Framer, Paperform, Notion, plus a team of part-time contractors

If running a profitable, mission-led community business as a near-owner sounds like the seat you have been waiting for, tell us who you are and why this one. A short note about the community you would most want to build is worth more than a long CV.
