Job Summary:The Senior Product Manager – Recommendations & AI will lead the evolution of our e-commerce platform's personalization and AI-driven experiences. This role will focus on leveraging advanced recommendation algorithms and generative AI to deliver highly relevant and engaging customer journeys across all platforms (desktop, mobile web, and app). You will be responsible for analyzing data, defining a strategic roadmap, and driving the implementation of AI-powered features that enhance product discovery, personalization, and overall customer satisfaction. This role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including engineering, data science, UX/UI, and marketing, to ensure seamless integration and execution of AI initiatives.Job Expectations:Drive AI-Powered Personalization: Lead the development and optimization of AI-driven recommendation systems, leveraging generative AI to create personalized content and experiences that enhance product discovery and conversion.Generative AI Innovation: Explore and implement innovative applications of generative AI, including personalized product descriptions, tailored content generation, and AI-powered chat/search functionalities.Data-Driven Optimization: Analyze user behavior, performance metrics, and A/B testing results to identify opportunities for optimization and improvement of recommendation and AI features.Product Roadmap & Strategy: Define and prioritize the product roadmap for AI-driven recommendations and personalization, aligning with overall business objectives and customer needs.User Research & Insights: Conduct user research and analyze customer feedback to inform product decisions and ensure a customer-centric approach to AI development.Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with engineering, data science, UX/UI, and marketing teams to define requirements, design solutions, and ensure successful product launches.Product Requirements & Design: Document detailed product requirements, user stories, and design specifications for AI-powered features, ensuring clear communication and alignment across teams.Agile Development: Actively participate in agile development processes, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.The duties and responsibilities described above may provide only a partial description of this position. Other duties and responsibilities not outlined in this document may be added as necessary or desirable, with or without notice.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Required:Deep understanding of e-commerce personalization techniques, including collaborative filtering, content-based filtering, and hybrid recommendation systems.Proven experience with generative AI models (LLMs, diffusion models, etc.) and their application in e-commerce or related fields.Strong understanding of API integrations for AI services.Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation, with experience using tools like Google Analytics, SQL, or similar.Expertise in A/B testing and multivariate experimentation to drive data-driven decision-making.Strong understanding of machine learning concepts and their application to recommendation systems and personalization.Experience in defining and managing product roadmaps and prioritizing features based on business impact and customer value.Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Strong understanding of UX/UI principles and best practices, with the ability to contribute to design discussions and wireframing. Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.Customer first mentality.Preferred:Experience with cloud-based AI platforms (e.g., Google Cloud AI or Vertex AI, AWS SageMaker or Bedrock, OpenAI Enterprise).Experience with personalization platforms.Experience with vector databases.Experience with prompt engineering.Experience Requirements:Generally requires seven (7) or more years of Product Ownership within an e-commerce or consumer software setting.Education Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree required.
