Job Summary
The Data Analyst is for Ministry of Statistics and programme implementation he/she will be responsible for collecting, validating, analyzing, and interpreting statistical data to support the Ministry's programmes, surveys, and policy initiatives. The role involves working with large datasets, preparing analytical reports, developing dashboards, and providing data-driven insights for decision-making. The candidate should possess strong analytical skills, experience in statistical methodologies, and proficiency in data visualization tools.
Key Responsibilities
Collect, clean, validate, and manage data received from various national surveys, administrative sources, and departmental databases.
Analyze large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and policy-relevant insights.
Develop dashboards, reports, and MIS for monitoring programme performance.
Perform statistical analysis using appropriate techniques and tools.
Ensure data accuracy, consistency, completeness, and compliance with government data standards.
Support survey design, data validation, and quality assurance processes.
Prepare periodic analytical reports, presentations, and briefing notes for senior officials.
Assist in monitoring Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) across various government programmes.
Collaborate with technical teams, programme divisions, and external agencies for data integration and reporting.
Automate routine reports and improve data processing workflows.
Maintain confidentiality and security of official data in accordance with Government of India guidelines.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Data Science, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or a related discipline.
Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in data analytics, preferably in government projects, research organizations, or public sector initiatives.
Technical Skills
Advanced proficiency in SQL.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel (Advanced Excel, Pivot Tables, Power Query).
Experience with Microsoft Power BI or Tableau.
Proficiency in Python or R for data analysis.
Experience with statistical techniques and survey data analysis.
Knowledge of database management systems and ETL processes.
Familiarity with government datasets, census, NSS, or large-scale survey data will be an added advantage.
