Job Summary
As an Associate Media Engineer, you will participate in projects utilizing new technologies in the areas of content creation, viewing and delivery. You will help engineer solutions as needed by production, as well as helping to configure, deploy and support desktop, review and meeting hardware needs for visual effects and animation workflow.
Education, Qualifications and Experience
Formal Education
Degree in a related field (e.g., Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Multimedia, or similar).
Professional Certifications
Certifications in Media engineering or related fields.
Primary areas of responsibility will include:
Install, configure, remove, and maintain media infrastructure services, hardware, and system software according to standard procedures.
Support and calibrate audio/video systems, including review projection systems, video conferencing, media playback, device controls, and complex switching systems.
Maintain meticulous records of all installed and removed hardware and software components, in addition to documentation for existing operational methods and tools.
Contribute to the development of installation procedures, standards, and the overall availability management process, by (including but not limited to) using standard procedures and diagnostic tools to test installations, correct problems, and document results.
Monitor, measure, and report on media infrastructure load, performance, and security events, and promptly resolve identified operational issues.
Carry out system media software maintenance tasks, and automate routine system administration tasks to specifications using standard tools and basic scripting.
Perform preventative maintenance, handle backups/restores, and optimize system availability and reliability to meet service level targets.
Contribute to the availability management process and its operation.
Participate in the assessment of media designs, specifications, and requirements in order to design comprehensive test cases and scripts.
Utilize established protocols to define and execute both manual and automated media testing procedures. Enhance testing efficiency by developing automated tasks and expanding test coverage through existing or new media infrastructure.
Analyze and report on test results, issues, and risks.
Assist with handling routine day-to-day communication with vendors and with collecting supplier performance data.
Assist users with general IT troubleshooting and hardware deployments, and provide backup coverage for basic Service Desk and Desktop Support duties during team absences (with support from the remote Global Service Desk).
Experience:
2-3 years experience in Media production or post production engineering.
Awareness of basic media terms, tools and concepts.
Nice to have experience in the use of Calman, CRI, Colour Navigator and color analyzers for display and projector calibration.
Nice to have experience in projection and display color calibration tools, profiles and standards.
Awareness with theater grade projection systems, such as Barco or Christie.

Location and Work Model
This is an on-site role in Los Angeles, California.
The anticipated base salary for this position is $40.38/hour - $48.08/hour USD. Benefits are per company policy: which include healthcare, tuition reimbursement, 401k matching, Sick and Vacation leave, standard increases as applicable. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location of the position.
