About the Role
We are looking for a creative, resourceful, and strategic Staff Engineer to join our team on a full time basis. As a foundational hire, you will have the opportunity to build your own processes and write the rulebook for how the role can evolve at our mission-driven social enterprise built to contextualize online and offline harms. Key Responsibilities
Lead key roadmapping cycle strategic execution trade-offs and work as a key-owner in prioritization decisions.
You’d be the go-to person for product implementation questions - working across the engineering function to unblock key infrastructure, dependency and implementation decisions.
Rapidly prototype scheduled product releases and accelerate overall go-to-market.
Drive engineering team best practices when it comes to code quality, AI development tooling use, testing, monitoring and system architecture designs.
Build robust, scalable scraping frameworks to handle high-volume, high-frequency data pulls.
Normalize and transform raw data into usable formats for analytics, ML models, and business applications.
Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and product managers to align collection efforts with business needs.
Qualifications
Qualities of a good candidate
You’ve been writing Python code for years and it’s your go-to language for a wide range of engineering problems.
Working knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
You’ve built APIs and stateless applications for large-scale data processing.
Experience with ETL pipeline design and orchestration (Airflow, Luigi, Prefect, etc.).
Knowledge of asynchronous processing and distributed systems.
You’ve implemented automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment strategies.
You have experience in both SQL and NoSQL databases.
Experience working in early-stage startups and spearheading new product initiatives.
Strong context-switching abilities with demonstrated systems for managing multiple concurrent priorities and resuming work efficiently
Ability to work effectively in small team environments (5-10 people or fewer) with direct communication and collaborative problem-solving
Resourcefulness in finding solutions and workarounds when standard processes or resources aren't available
Qualities of a great candidate:
Familiarity with UI frameworks (like Vue and React) or aren’t afraid of building experience in them.
Proficiency with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
Background in Threat Intelligence systems, teams, or previous roles.
A track-record and background using the latest engineering tools, systems and processes to keep an organization’s tech stack up-to-date.

What We Offer
Full salary + compensation range of $160,000-$200,000
