HR Generalist at The Prompt Academy
Company Description
The Prompt Academy is hiring an HR Generalist to transform how people learn AI and technology skills. We're looking for a driven, people-minded, AI-first HR professional who treats AI tools and automation as a default part of how they work — someone who can do the output of a much larger team by building smart, automated workflows that handle the repetitive parts of people operations. If you're excited to grow a platform that teaches the world AI skills while using those same tools to scale your own impact, we'd love to hear from you!
Role Description
This is a full-time, HR Generalist role working remotely from anywhere, U.S. preferred. The HR Generalist will be responsible for supporting the full employee lifecycle — from recruiting and onboarding to employee relations, benefits, and compliance — and helping build a strong, healthy company culture as we grow.
Responsibilities include coordinating hiring and onboarding, administering benefits and supporting payroll, maintaining HR policies and records, and serving as a first point of contact for employee questions. The role will also involve improving and automating people-operations processes, supporting performance and engagement initiatives, and collaborating closely with leadership to scale our team thoughtfully.
What You Will Do
Use AI tools to draft job posts, policies, and communications, and to streamline everyday HR work
Build and maintain automated workflows that take manual, repetitive people-operations tasks off your plate
Coordinate recruiting and hiring — posting roles, scheduling interviews, and supporting a great candidate experience
Own onboarding and offboarding to make every employee's first and last days smooth
Administer benefits and support payroll, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
Maintain HR policies, the employee handbook, and accurate employee records
Serve as a first point of contact for employee questions and help resolve day-to-day issues
Support performance reviews, engagement initiatives, and a healthy company culture
Help keep the company compliant with employment laws and collaborate with leadership to improve people processes as we grow
Qualifications
2–4 years of experience in HR, People Operations, or a related role
An AI-first mindset — you reach for AI tools by default to work faster, smarter, and at greater scale
Hands-on experience using AI tools like ChatGPT and Claude for drafting, research, and process work
Experience building automated workflows and connecting tools to eliminate manual, repetitive work
Working knowledge of HR fundamentals — onboarding, benefits, employee relations, and compliance
Familiarity with U.S. employment laws and HR best practices
Strong communication skills, sound judgment, and discretion when handling confidential matters
Familiarity with HRIS and people tools (Gusto, Rippling, BambooHR, Deel, or similar)
Nice To Have
Experience supporting a remote or distributed team a plus
Experience at an early-stage startup or fast-growing company a plus
HR certification (SHRM-CP, PHR, or similar) a plus
Experience with recruiting or talent acquisition a plus
A proactive, test-and-learn mindset and a genuine passion for building great workplaces
