About the role The Mission: Our cofounder, Mohammed Roshan, learned a critical early lesson: our target users are not crypto-natives, but "newbies who shop". This realization is the cornerstone of our strategy. To succeed, GoSats must be the "simplest on-ramp to bitcoin in India". Your mission as the Friction Finder is to be the guardian of this simplicity. You will dive deep into the user's world to uncover every point of confusion, hesitation, and frustration, ensuring our product is not just powerful, but effortlessly intuitive for someone discovering Bitcoin for the very first time. What You'll Do: Conduct Foundational Usability Testing: You will learn to plan, recruit users for, and conduct moderated usability tests on core product flows and new features. From the digital KYC process to using SatsPay at a local merchant or withdrawing Gold for the first time, you will identify critical pain points that we can solve to improve the user experience. Map the New User Journey: Work alongside senior designers to visually map the end-to-end journey of a first-time GoSats user. You will help document their goals, actions, and emotions at each stage, from downloading the app to making their first transaction and successfully withdrawing their first earned assets. Synthesize Data into Actionable Insights: Learn to analyze qualitative data from user interviews, surveys, app store reviews, and support tickets to spot recurring themes and unmet needs. You will be responsible for creating clear, concise research reports and presenting your findings directly to product managers and designers, turning raw user feedback into concrete product improvements. Perform Strategic Competitive Analysis: Systematically research the user experience of key competitors, including crypto exchanges like WazirX and other FinTech rewards applications in the Indian market. Your analysis will help us benchmark our product, identify best practices, and uncover opportunities to create a truly differentiated and superior user experience. Who You Are: A deeply curious and empathetic observer. You are fascinated by why people do what they do and possess a keen eye for detail. Familiar with fundamental research methodologies (e.g., surveys, interviews, usability testing) through your coursework or personal projects. An excellent communicator, both written and verbal. You have the ability to translate complex human behaviors and nuanced observations into clear, compelling, and actionable recommendations for a technical audience. Driven by a desire to be the ultimate advocate for the user, ensuring their voice is at the heart of every product decision we make. Not mandatory but would help if you’re a current student pursuing a degree in a field that studies human behavior, such as Psychology, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Anthropology, Sociology, or Design Research.
