Full-Stack E-Commerce Developer
IT Department Fort Lee, NJ (Hybrid, ~50% on-site / 50% remote) $75,000–$100,000
We’re building a custom e-commerce platform from the ground up, and we need a developer who can own it end to end — the storefront customers see and the fulfillment engine running behind it. This is a rare chance to shape the core technology of a growing company, not maintain someone else’s legacy code.
About Us
The Recovery Shop (TRS) is a recovery products and technology platform serving healthcare practitioners and their patients. We connect physicians, clinics, and patients with the recovery products they need through a streamlined online experience, and we’re scaling toward becoming the largest recovery platform in the country. Our technology — not just our catalog — is central to that goal.
About the Role
As our Full-Stack E-Commerce Developer, you’ll build and maintain both the customer-facing website and the back-end systems that move an order from checkout to delivery. Twelve months in, you’ll have shipped a polished, reliable storefront, automated key fulfillment workflows, and integrated the third-party systems that keep the business running. You’ll work closely with leadership, so your work has visible impact from day one.
What You’ll Do
Develop and maintain the front-end e-commerce website with a strong focus on clean, intuitive user experience (UI/UX).
Build and support back-end systems for order processing, inventory, and fulfillment.
Integrate and maintain third-party services such as payment processing (Stripe), accounting (QuickBooks), and other operational tools.
Optimize site performance, responsiveness, and the mobile experience, including progressive web app (PWA) delivery.
Troubleshoot, debug, and continuously improve platform reliability and security.
Collaborate with operations and leadership to turn business needs into working features.
What We’re Looking For
Required
E-commerce development experience — this is essential. Professional, internship, freelance, or substantial project work all count.
Proficiency in front-end web development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and a modern framework.
Working knowledge of back-end development and integrating APIs and third-party services.
A strong eye for user experience and attention to detail.
Ability to work on-site in Fort Lee, NJ roughly half the week, and remote the other half.
Drive to take ownership, learn fast, and grow with the platform — we welcome early-career candidates, including recent graduates, who can show real e-commerce work.
Preferred
Experience with [your specific stack — e.g., React, Node.js, PostgreSQL].
Hands-on experience with payment integrations (Stripe) and/or accounting tools (QuickBooks).
Experience with order fulfillment, inventory, or warehouse systems.
Exposure to healthcare, regulated, or HIPAA-adjacent environments.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary range: $75,000–$100,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
Hybrid schedule: approximately 50% in our Fort Lee, NJ office and 50% remote.
[Add standout benefits — e.g., health coverage, PTO, growth opportunities.]
