General Summary
The UX Designer is an individual contributor responsible for delivering quality design work for features and projects while developing design expertise and impact. This role handles standard design projects independently, collaborates with product and engineering teams, and contributes to team design quality. The UX Designer works with guidance on complex problems, learns from senior team members, and grows capabilities across design disciplines. This role requires solid design skills, effective collaboration, and the ability to balance user needs with project constraints.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Delivers quality design work for features and projects with appropriate guidance
Handles standard design projects independently from concept through implementation
Creates interaction designs, information architectures, and visual designs aligned with product goals
Collaborates with product managers and engineers throughout the design and development process
Conducts user research with guidance and applies insights to design decisions
Uses design system components correctly and maintains design consistency
Creates wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs to communicate design intent
Conducts usability testing and iterates designs based on feedback
Participates in design reviews, providing and receiving constructive feedback
Represents user needs in project planning and feature discussions
Presents design work clearly to the team and stakeholders
Stays current with design patterns, tools, and best practices
Documents design decisions and rationale appropriately
Responds to feedback constructively and incorporates it into designs
Contributes ideas to improve team processes and practices
Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities Required
Solid competency across UX design disciplines, including ideation, interaction design, information architecture, visual design, and validation with the ability to handle standard projects independently
Developing strategic thinking with an understanding of how design work connects to product goals
Understanding of user needs and project constraints with the ability to create designs that balance both
Experience using design systems and creating consistent designs following established patterns
Capability in conducting basic research, reviewing data, and applying insights to design decisions
Ability to collaborate effectively with product and engineering teams on project execution
Clear communication skills with the ability to present work and explain design decisions
Openness to feedback and mentorship from senior designers
Competent use of design tools with organized workflows
Ability to work independently on standard projects with guidance on complex problems
Demonstrated commitment to quality and user-centered design
Good collaboration skills, adaptability, and willingness to learn
Educational/Vocational/Previous Experience Recommendations
Bachelor’s degree in Design, HCI, or related field
3+ years of experience in UX design with a portfolio demonstrating solid skills
Demonstrated competency in core design disciplines
Experience delivering design work through the full project lifecycle
Track record of effective collaboration with product and engineering teams
Familiarity with design systems and modern design tools
Understanding of user research methods and usability testing
Working Conditions
Hybrid / Office, depending on location, with regular presence for team collaboration
Minimal travel, occasional team meetings
Mid-level IC position requiring good judgment and effective collaboration
