Job Title: Lead Licensed Veterinary Technician
Job Type: Full-Time
Pay Range: $20-$25 per hour
Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Lead Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our team. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of veterinary technicians and assistants while maintaining high standards of patient care and clinic efficiency. The ideal candidate has strong technical veterinary skills, leadership experience, and a passion for mentoring team members.
The Lead Technician works closely with the Practice Manager and veterinarians to ensure smooth workflow, excellent client service, and high-quality medical care for our patients.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of veterinary technicians and assistants.
Train, mentor, and onboard new technicians and assistants on clinic protocols and procedures.
Assist veterinarians with appointments, treatments, and surgical procedures as needed.
Oversee and direct daily clinic “floor traffic” to maintain organized and efficient operations.
Address staff concerns, performance issues, and conflicts in collaboration with the Practice Manager.
Ensure compliance with clinic policies, safety standards, and medical protocols.
Collaborate with veterinarians (DVMs) to support optimal patient care and positive client experiences.
Assist with inventory management and maintenance of medical equipment.
Promote a culture of professionalism, teamwork, and high-quality patient care.
Qualifications:
Licensed Veterinary Technician
Minimum of 3 years of experience working as a veterinary technician or assistant.
Demonstrated proficiency in veterinary clinical and surgical support skills.
Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment and make sound decisions under pressure.
