AI Researcher — Orchestration & Agentic AI at GPost
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
We are a purpose-driven startup on a mission to build AI that amplifies, not replaces — People, Communities, and Businesses. Our first product is an app we are crafting together as a small, close-knit team. We believe great AI should be simple, consistent, and human-centred. If you see AI as a force for doing good and building a sustainable commercial business, this role was written for you.
As our founding AI Researcher, you will sit at the intersection of applied research and product engineering, reporting directly to the CEO. You will help define the technical foundations of our AI stack — from LLM/SLM orchestration to multi-agent systems and conversational AI — while staying deeply connected to the real-world impact of every line of code.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
▸ Design and implement orchestration architectures for LLMs and SLMs, including multi-agent and agentic workflow patterns.
▸ Lead the AI research and applied engineering for our flagship app, shaping product direction from prototype to production.
▸ Build conversational AI systems that are simple, feel natural, trustworthy, and genuinely useful to end users.
▸ Collaborate directly with the CEO and the founding team — expect fast feedback loops, honest conversations, and shared ownership.
▸ Evaluate emerging models, frameworks, and techniques; translate findings into actionable product improvements.
▸ Champion the philosophy that AI should build people up — designing systems with fairness, transparency, and human dignity at their core.
▸ Contribute to internal knowledge sharing; help the team learn alongside you.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Technical Skills
▸ 2–5 years of hands-on experience in AI/ML research or applied AI engineering.
▸ Strong practical knowledge of LLM and SLM orchestration — prompt engineering, RAG pipelines, fine-tuning, and tool-use frameworks (e.g., LangChain, LlamaIndex, or equivalent).
▸ Experience designing agentic systems: planning loops, memory management, multi-step reasoning, and agent-to-agent coordination.
▸ Proficiency in Python; comfort with PyTorch, Hugging Face, or similar ML toolkits.
▸ Familiarity with conversational AI design principles, dialogue management, and evaluation methodologies.
▸ Ability to work across the full stack from research experiments to deployed, production-quality systems.
Mindset & Values
▸ A genuine belief that AI exists to lift people and communities — not replace them.
▸ Curiosity and intellectual humility; willing to learn as much as you bring.
▸ A different lens on the world — you challenge assumptions and ask better questions.
▸ Comfort with ambiguity and the pace of a startup; you build the plane as you fly it.
▸ A collaborative spirit — low ego, high accountability, shared purpose.
▸ Passion for simplicity: you know that the hardest thing to build is something genuinely easy to use.
NICE TO HAVE
▸ Published research or open-source contributions in AI, NLP, or multi-agent systems.
▸ Experience building consumer-facing AI products or conversational interfaces.
▸ Exposure to responsible AI frameworks, bias detection, or AI ethics in practice.
▸ Prior startup experience or a track record of wearing multiple hats.
