Our Analytics organization comprises of data analysts who focus on enabling strategies to enhance customer and partner experience and optimize business performance through data management and development of full stack descriptive to prescriptive analytics solutions using cutting edge technologies thereby enabling business growth
Role Summary/Purpose:
VP-Analytics, Consumer Bank role is a part of India Analytics Hub (IAH). The role involves leading an analytics team and providing strategic insights and developing analytic capabilities and solutions to drive deposits growth through optimized marketing investments. This role will partner with the US Analytics team to deliver actionable insights around growth and retention of customer relationships, channel strategy, customer behavior, targeting and segmentation, portfolio diagnostics and compliance and deposits regulatory reporting. This role also coordinates with the broader analytics team to leverage multiple data sources and types to provide cohesive analytics that inform and direct strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide hands-on analytic support to projects, processes and initiatives tied to the SYF Consumer Bank within Digital Platform Analytics vertical and lead associated India team ,catering to business priorities and propose new analytic solutions to optimize business decisions
Handle day to day analytic requests for Consumer Bank team, and prioritization of projects with US Analytics team and stakeholders, lead from strategic perspective.
Proactively manage all analytic projects with weekly update on timeline, status, and resource allocation; Ensure delivery of all BAU and strategic projects based on business demand and requirements
Work hands-on and lead a variety of short, medium & long-term projects for own & with team from beginning to end, including ideation, data mining, strategy formulation, and presentation of results and recommendations, with little or no supervision
Together with US analytics teams, foster strong partnership and engagement with both internal Synchrony business and client teams
Manage, coach and develop a team of 5 analytics professionals dedicated to India consumer bank team
Support recruitment, retention and development of analytic talent.
Develop &
advanced analytics to optimize business outcomes
Share learnings and capabilities with broader analytics community and play an instrumental role in developing use cases to showcase IAH capabilities.
Partner with Analytics CoE teams to drive best practices and centralized analytic capabilities
Drive internal initiatives, perform other duties and/or special projects, as assigned
Required Skills/Knowledge:
Bachelor's degree with minimum 8+ years of experience in building analytics to drive strategy with positive outcomes and measuring impact or in lieu of a degree minimum 10+ years of experience in building analytics to drive strategy with positive outcomes and measuring impact
Minimum 4 years of experience in managing people, developing talent, providing & receiving constructive feedback
Minimum 6 years of hands-on SQL and SAS programming experience with an ability to leverage advanced algorithms and be efficient in handling complex/large data sets
Hands-on analytical skills, including coding, Tableau, and working with diverse data sources (Oracle DB, EDL, etc.). Familiarity with statistical methods and tools such as decision trees, regression, segmentation, etc.
Advanced development of dashboards and data visualization tools such as Tableau or Birst
Strong understanding of targeting and segmentation, analytic tools and advanced skills using Excel and PowerPoint strongly preferred
Strong at managing and coordinating progress across multiple large projects simultaneously.
People leadership skills, with the ability to coach and mentor team members
Ability to work in matrix organization, make and enable data driven decisions
Demonstrated ability to manage complexity/ambiguity and multiple initiatives
Ability to develop executable strategies, articulate a clear vision, and deliver results
Strong marketing, creative and analytical skills

Eligibility Criteria:
Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, or any other quantitative streams with 8+ years of relevant analytics experience. Minimum 10+ years of relevant work experience in lieu of specified degree.
Work Timings:This role qualifies for Enhanced Flexibility offered in Synchrony and will require the incumbent to be available between 06:00 AM Eastern Time – 11:30 AM Eastern Time (timings are anchored to US Eastern hours and will adjust twice a year locally). This window is for meetings with Asia and US teams. The remaining hours will be flexible for the employee to choose. Exceptions may periodically due to business needs). We are proud to offer flexibility at Synchrony. Our way of working allows you the option to work from home or workspaces in our Regional Engagement Hubs. Occasionally you may be required to commute or travel to Hub or one of the Regional Engagement Hubs for in person engagement activities such as business or team meetings, trainings, and culture events.
