Senior Platform Engineer / Fintech / Typescript, Node.js, AWS / Fully Remote at TrustIn
This AI Platform is growing fast and they need a senior or staff platform engineer to own the systems and tooling that let their product engineers move quickly and safely. This isn't purely an infra role — you'll design developer platforms, build TypeScript libraries and shared SDKs, and create the kind of internal tooling that makes deploying feel easy. If you've built infrastructure as a product at a high-growth tech startup and care as much about developer experience as uptime, this role is for you.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
• Own and evolve our AWS infrastructure using Terraform and Pulumi — treating every platform decision as a product decision that affects how fast and safely the rest of engineering can move.
• Design and maintain TypeScript libraries, shared SDKs, CLIs, code generation tools, and templates that standardise how we build and ship software across the organisation.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines in Buildkite and per-PR ephemeral environments — so that shipping to production feels like a non-event for every engineer on the team.
• Own SLOs, error budgets, auto-scaling, and incident response — with a production observability stack built on Datadog, distributed tracing, and CloudWatch that actually surfaces what matters.
• Tackle platform bottlenecks from database tuning (Aurora PostgreSQL) to compute autoscaling — on an AI-native platform processing high-stakes mortgage transactions.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
✓7+ years in platform or infrastructure engineering, with meaningful experience at a high-growth tech startup — not just big tech
✓Strong TypeScript/Node.js skills — you can write production-grade libraries and APIs, not just glue scripts
✓Deep AWS expertise across compute, networking, storage, and security (ECS, Lambda, VPC, RDS, IAM, ElastiCache, MSK, and more)
✓Strong Terraform and/or Pulumi proficiency — modules, workspaces, CI-driven plan/apply workflows
✓Track record building internal platforms and developer tooling — CLIs, SDKs, code generation, or templates that meaningfully improved engineering velocity
✓Strong written communication — you document complex systems clearly and know that good writing is part of the job
