About Us: MECHANON is a Dubai-based venture studio that builds and incubates businesses from concept, with teams across Bangalore, Dubai and London. We're not an agency, a consultancy, or an outsourcing company, we build real businesses and therefore need from scratch builders. Our current focus is 'The Engine': a production intelligence platform for film and television. The Role: We're hiring our first Front-End Engineer. This is a hands-on, high-ownership role: you'll take real designs, produced by our Product Designer, and build them into a fast, polished, production-grade web app. You'll work closely with our Platform Engineering Lead and the founder, building against real backend data as the platform's data and API layer comes online. This is a builder role for someone who wants to see clean, well-architected front-end code shipped quickly by a small, fast-moving team. What you'll do: • Build our core app pages, our conversion/paywall experience, and our public-facing marketing pages directly from Figma designs • Own front-end architecture and code quality across the platform, using our defined stack (Next.js, React, TypeScript) • Implement complex, data-dense interfaces — dashboards, tables, filters, search — cleanly and performantly • Integrate with backend APIs as the data layer is built out, working directly with our backend engineer • Work directly with the Product Designer to make sure what ships matches what was designed, pixel-for-pixel where it matters • Set up and maintain the front-end project's engineering hygiene — linting, formatting, git hooks, and testing — from day one What we're looking for: • Real, shipped front-end experience — with live products, not just personal or template projects • Strong proficiency in React, TypeScript, and Next.js specifically • Real experience translating Figma designs into accurate, responsive, production-quality UI • Comfort building in component-based systems (shadcn/ui or equivalent) with utility-first CSS (Tailwind) • Experience integrating front-ends against real APIs — data fetching, caching, and state management done properly • Startup mindset — comfortable with ambiguity, fast iteration, and direct founder feedback • Based in, or willing to relocate to, Bangalore — this is a fully on-site role Skills and Tools: • Language: TypeScript • Framework: Next.js, with React as the underlying UI library • Components: shadcn/ui, styled with Tailwind CSS; icons via Lucide React • State management & Data: Zustand or Redux for client state, TanStack Query for server state/API caching, TanStack Table for data grids • API layer: axios; comfort integrating third-party services such as Clerk (auth) and Stripe (payments) • Monitoring & analytics: Sentry (error monitoring), PostHog (product analytics, session replay, feature flags) Strongly Valued Skills: • Full-stack capability — comfort working across the stack, not purely front-end-siloed • DevOps understanding — deployment pipelines, environment configuration, and CI/CD awareness What doesn't suit this role • Backend-only or infrastructure-only experience with no real front-end build ownership • No experience working from real design files — designs-as-an-afterthought engineering • Preference for slow, heavily-processed release cycles • Remote or hybrid working — we're a small, in-person team by design How to Apply: Send your resume via the Wellfound Platform We look forward to learning more about you.
