DESCRIPTION
The Everyday Essential Experience Org's mission is to deliver a world class shopping experience for everyday essentials that is efficient, habitual and economical for our customers and selling partners. We are looking for a Senior Software Development Engineer driven by ownership and a passion for solving complex, large-scale problems through creative solutions.
The Everyday Essential Cost to Serve team is part of the Everyday Essential Experience org and is responsible for driving multi-million dollars cost savings for Amazon through its various Cost to Serve programs. In this role, you will shape how Amazon's selling partners and customers sell and shop both online and physical multipacks. You will work on foundational changes to how Amazon represents a purchase — separating what a customer buys from how it is fulfilled — enabling a seamless multipack experience across the full spectrum of use cases, from online multi-packs fulfilled with individual units to physical multipack products sold and shipped as a single item. This work directly impacts how millions of customers discover, purchase, and receive multipack products, and how selling partners list and manage their multipack catalog on Amazon.
Key job responsibilities
Architect and drive end-to-end technical solutions across multiple systems and services, setting the standard for scalability, reliability, and long-term maintainability while influencing the team's overall technical direction and roadmap.
Partner with senior leadership, principal engineers, and cross-functional stakeholders to shape product strategy, decompose ambiguous business problems into well-defined technical architectures, and make sound trade-off decisions that balance speed, quality, and long-term sustainability.
Raise the bar across the organization by proactively identifying systemic gaps, driving architectural improvements, and delivering high-impact solutions that reduce operational burden and unlock new capabilities — not just for your team, but across dependent systems.
Set technical standards and mentor engineers at all levels — lead design reviews, establish best practices that scale beyond your immediate team, and develop senior engineers into future technical leaders through hands-on coaching and high-judgment feedback.
Own the operational health of critical systems end-to-end — define SLAs, drive operational excellence mechanisms, lead incident response for complex cross-system issues, and build self-healing, observable systems that minimize customer impact.
