Infrastructure Engineer_Mid to Staff level at Kuvaka Tech Infrastructure Engineer (Entry to Staff Level) Position: Full-time Location: San Francisco, CA (On-site - 5 days/week) Experience Level: 2–6 years Compensation: $200K–$375K (mid-level: approx. $250K–$325K; senior: $300K–$375K) Equity: Competitive About the Role : We are looking for a passionate Infrastructure Engineer to join our growing team and help build and operate foundational services for a large-scale, AI-driven platform. Your work will support high reliability, scalability, and performance, enabling us to serve millions of users and meet enterprise-grade infrastructure needs. What You’ll Do : Design and implement critical infrastructure services with well-defined Service Level Objectives (SLOs), robust runbooks, and actionable telemetry. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (research, product) to architect solutions, prototype infrastructure, assess performance, and scale new features. Tune service performance: optimize networking paths, implement smart caching and queuing strategies, and fine-tune CPU/memory/I/O to meet tight p95 and p99 latency targets. Evolve and improve CI/CD workflows, define “golden paths,” and build self-service tools to boost developer velocity and ensure platform safety. Support multiple deployment architectures, ensuring customers have reliable observability and upgrade mechanisms. Drive infrastructure-as-code (IaC) practices, primarily using Terraform, enforce GitOps workflows, reduce drift via reusable modules, and apply policy-as-code. Participate in on-call rotations and continually reduce operational toil by automating repetitive tasks and preventing recurring incidents. What We’re Looking For : 2–6 years of experience in infrastructure engineering, site reliability engineering, or a closely related role. Strong experience with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform) and GitOps practices. Deep understanding of monitoring, telemetry, and observability tools. Proven ability to optimize system performance (networking, caching, CPU/memory/I/O). Experience building or improving CI/CD pipelines and developer self-service platforms. Hands-on with deployment architectures and operational practices for scalable, production-level systems. Experience participating in on-call rotations and reducing operational burden through automation. Excellent collaboration skills, with the ability to partner with product and research teams.
