Founding Full Stack Lead (15% Equity) at Answerbase This is not a salaried position. This is a 15% equity opportunity for a single, highly experienced technical lead to join me as a founding team member. You are not expected to leave your current job. I am looking for a true partner who can own the entire engineering side of the business and hit the ground running. About Answerbase: Answerbase is a simple tool that connects to a company's internal data and provides instant, accurate answers. I have the product vision and developed a working prototype. Your mission is to take full ownership of the technology and build a world-class, production-grade SaaS application. Our operating constraints: We are a bootstrapped and lean project. Our entire strategy is to build a phenomenal product using a modern, efficient, "zero-cost" stack. The person in this role must be a pragmatic problem-solver who thrives in an environment with budget constraints and knows how to make smart, cost-effective technical decisions. Technical requirements You must be an expert with a minimum of 5 years of experience building production-grade applications. I am looking for a senior engineer who is comfortable taking the lead with our modern, lean tech stack. This is the stack we will be using to build Answer Base: The frontend application will be built with Next.js, TypeScript, and Tailwind CSS, deployed on Vercel. The core backend engine will be built with Node.js in a Docker container, deployed on Railway. We will use Supabase for our primary PostgreSQL database and user authentication, and Pinecone as our vector database for the core AI functionality. Your job is to architect and build across this full stack, designing the RESTful APIs and data pipelines that connect these services into a cohesive, scalable product. While you don't need to be a day-one expert in every single tool, you must have the deep foundational knowledge and confidence to own this entire technical landscape. Professional ethics (Non-negotiable) This is as important as your technical skill. I am looking for a partner with these specific traits. Extreme ownership: You don't need to be managed. You take full responsibility for the entire technical domain. When you see a problem, you solve it. You treat this as our company, not my project. Communication: You are a clear, frequent, and proactive communicator. You respond to messages in a timely manner. We will have a minimum of three sync calls per week to stay aligned, and you must be an active participant. Reliability & follow-through: You do what you say you're going to do. I will not have to chase you or follow up on your commitments. This is the foundation of trust in a remote team. Pragmatic problem-solving: You are a builder who knows how to deliver a world-class product on a bootstrapped budget. You find solutions, you don't just point out problems. The Role & the offer As the founder, I own the product vision and GTM operations. I have defined the core architecture and stack. Your role is to take that vision and lead the entire technical execution from the ground up. Your offer is 15% equity stake, with a 3-year vesting schedule and a 1-year cliff.
