Job Opportunity for Senior Backend Engineer EV Charging Protocols (OCPP & OCPI) for Gurugram location.Role Summary: We are seeking a high-performing Senior Backend Engineer with deep expertise in Java and EV charging communication standards (OCPP / OCPI). In this role, you will architect, build, and scale our core real-time EV charging and connected asset platform. You will be responsible for solving highly complex backend challenges bridging hardware-level infrastructure with enterprise software to deliver seamless user authorization, rock-solid transactional booking systems, and zero-latency live map tracking.Core Responsibilities:_EV Protocol Implementation: Design and scale robust backend components using OCPP (1.6/2.0.1) and OCPI (2.2.1+) protocols for seamless Central Management System (CSMS) operation and roaming integrations._Custom Protocol Extensions: Engineer custom vendor extensions and firmware workarounds where standard protocols fall short of specific business logic or hardware capabilities._Real-Time Data Streaming: Build high-throughput Java backend services to handle live status updates, telemetry, and heartbeat data from chargers, devices, and stations._Hardware-to-Cloud Authorization: Develop low-latency backend authorization workflows, handling both app-based digital triggers and hardware-level RFID token identification._High-Concurrency Reservation Engines: Implement transaction engines featuring strict double-booking prevention to guarantee reliable timeslot allocations when multiple users lock the same charger simultaneously._Geospatial & Map Synchronization: Optimize live, map-based location tracking APIs, ensuring high-frequency status changes sync perfectly across mobile and web interfaces._Financial Verification Logic: Build secure pre-session validation engines to execute balance and wallet eligibility checks before permitting a charging session or booking to initialize.Ideal Profile & Qualifications:_Core Tech Stack: Deep engineering experience with Java (8/11/17+), Spring Boot, and building distributed enterprise architectures._EV Infrastructure Mastery: Proven experience working directly with OCPP and OCPI protocol implementations in production environments._Distributed Systems Knowledge: Hands-on expertise with real-time systems, relational/NoSQL databases, distributed caching (e.g., Redis), and message brokers/event streaming (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ) to handle high-concurrency workloads._Domain Background: Prior work in EV charging networks, smart mobility, IoT, telematics, or location-based platforms is highly preferred._Problem-Solving Rigour: Advanced skills in handling race conditions, complex edge cases, concurrency locks, and real-time state synchronization.If you or anyone is your network is looking for the same and good fit for the requirement please reach out to us.Role: Back End Developer,Industry Type: IT Services & Consulting,Department: Engineering - Software & QA,Employment Type: Full Time, PermanentRole Category: Software DevelopmentEducationUG: Any Graduate
