Senior Full-Stack Engineer at Validus
You own the backend and frontend architecture and full-stack execution for Validus — verification systems, API layer, database design, and platform integrations. You amplify and oversee the current backend engineer while shipping critical infrastructure that the entire product depends on.
What you'll own:
Backend architecture and API design. Database optimization and data model evolution as the platform scales from 1,000 to 100,000 verified users. Code quality standards and review for backend development. Integration with third-party verification providers, payment systems, and data sources. You work alongside the senior product engineer and report into the same product direction — but your domain is the systems underneath.
This role is senior in the real sense: you make the current backend engineer significantly better, you catch architectural decisions before they become technical debt, and you ship reliable, secure infrastructure for a platform that holds verified identity data and asset-tier classifications.
You should have:
6+ years full-stack, with deep backend strength — you've designed systems, not just built features
Strong Node.js and PostgreSQL experience, ideally with Supabase or similar BaaS platforms
Experience scaling platforms from early stage to meaningful user bases — you've seen what breaks at 10x growth
Ability to mentor and elevate a mid-level backend engineer without micromanaging
Security awareness built into how you write code, not bolted on after review
Understanding that "full-stack" means you can work across the entire surface when needed, not that you do everything
